Climbing Wall

Climbing Wall at Attart Off Road Park

In view of the needs for the G4 Challenge tests of Land Rover, a Climbing Wall was constructed at Attart Off Road park.

The wall was constructed to remain in the Park so it is of a heavy construction. After an engineer's survey a pit was excavated measuring 7 meters wide by 2 meters deep and iron beams were embedded in cement.

On the surface it was covered by 1" marine plywood. It is supported by steel cables that were attached on the windy side and has a ladder at the back for techical maintenance and practicality safety reasons. It is painted in army camouflage and has rock climbing steps embeded on its surface. At the very top there is a 4 meter long anchoring bar for the attachment of climbing ropes

The topmost climbing level is hinged with an adjustable angle of inclanation.

Right at the front and at a distance of 4 to 5 meters hooks were placed into the ground for the attachement of the safety Top Rope.

The climbing wall now -after the G4- will remain at the Park as an advertising panel of 40 sq. meters being 4 wide by 10 meters high and will be manned by Adrenalin Ltd when used in future events.
